Questions

Are there free alternatives to the apps I pay for every month?

Yes. Unsubbed publishes free, open-source alternatives to popular subscription apps, one new app every day for 100 days. Each app runs in your web browser, needs no account, and keeps your files on your own device. The first app, Unsubbed Clarity, is a free writing checker.

Are Unsubbed apps really free?

Yes. Every Unsubbed app costs $0 with no trial, no paid tier, and no ads. The project is funded by optional tips on Ko-fi from people who would rather give once than pay monthly. If an app is useful, it stays free, and its code stays public on GitHub.

Do Unsubbed apps upload my files?

No. Unsubbed apps run entirely in your browser and make no outside network requests. There is no account, no analytics, and no server receiving your work. Your files and text stay on your device, and you can save or export a copy whenever you like.

What happens to an Unsubbed app if the project stops?

Every app is open source under the AGPL-3.0 license, with its full code on GitHub. Anyone can keep using it, host their own copy, or keep improving it. Because the apps run in the browser without a server, there is nothing to shut down that would lock you out.

Keep the apps free

Unsubbed runs on tips from people who'd rather give once than pay monthly forever. If an app saved you a subscription, a coffee pays for the next one.
